Safety & Guidelines
Safety Guidelines
At BookingOwn.com, we prioritize the safety and well-being of every trekker. Our expert guides and experienced team ensure that your trekking adventure is both thrilling and secure. Please review the following safety guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience while trekking in the mountains.
- Consult Your Doctor: Before embarking on any trek, especially high-altitude ones, it is essential to consult your doctor, particularly if you have existing health conditions.
- Fitness Preparation: Prepare your body by maintaining a good level of fitness. Engage in regular cardio exercises, strength training, and hiking practice, especially if you're new to trekking.
1. Pre-Trek Health & Fitness
- Know the Symptoms: Altitude sickness can occur at elevations above 2,500 meters. Common symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath.
- Acclimatization: Our treks are designed with proper acclimatization days to allow your body to adjust to higher altitudes. Always follow your guide's recommendations for rest and hydration.
- Immediate Response: If you experience symptoms of altitude sickness, notify your guide immediately. Our guides are trained to take action and provide support, including descending to a lower altitude if necessary.
2. Altitude Sickness Awareness

- Proper Footwear: Wear well-fitted, broken-in trekking boots with good ankle support. Avoid brand-new shoes as they may cause blisters.
- Layered Clothing: The weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. Dress in layers, including moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers, and waterproof outer layers.
- Essentials to Carry: Ensure you have a lightweight and durable backpack with items such as a first-aid kit, sunscreen, a headlamp, water bottle, and snacks. A personal safety whistle and a power bank for charging devices are recommended.
3. Trekking Gear & Equipment
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the trek. At higher altitudes, the body tends to dehydrate faster. Carry a water purification system or iodine tablets to treat water from streams.
- Balanced Diet: Carry high-energy snacks like nuts, energy bars, and fruits. Eat regular meals provided by your guide to maintain energy levels during the trek.
4. Hydration & Nutrition
- Be Prepared for Changing Conditions: The weather in the mountains can change rapidly. Always be ready for rain, snow, or sudden temperature drops. Make sure your rain gear and outerwear are waterproof.
- Weather Updates: Your trek leader will keep you informed about weather forecasts and make adjustments if necessary to ensure safety.
5. Weather Preparedness
